Data Controller
Velvet Circle OÜ, a company registered in Estonia, is the data controller responsible for your personal data. If you have questions about how we handle your data, you may contact us at privacy@velvetcircle.com. We process your data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable local law.
Data We Collect
We collect information you provide when creating an account (name, email address, date of birth, photos, and profile details), information generated through your use of the platform (browsing activity, messages, and preferences), and technical information such as IP address, device type, and cookies. We do not collect payment card details directly — these are handled by our payment processor.
How We Use Your Data
We use your data to operate and personalise the platform, verify your identity and enforce our Community Guidelines, send you service-related communications, improve our features through aggregated analytics, and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
Data Storage
Your data is stored on servers operated by Supabase and hosted within the European Economic Area. Profile photos and media are stored in encrypted object storage. We retain your data for as long as your account is active and for a further 90 days after deletion to allow recovery and fulfil legal obligations, after which it is permanently erased.
Your Rights
Under GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data; to restrict or object to processing; and to data portability. You may exercise these rights at any time from within your account settings or by contacting privacy@velvetcircle.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to maintain your session and keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
